Higham Ferrers is a small market town in Northamptonshire, sitting close to the Nene valley and near the larger town of Rushden to its west. Much of its older housing stock dates from the Victorian and Edwardian periods, when terraced and semi-detached properties were built in traditional solid-wall masonry construction using locally sourced stone or brick.
